The Staggering Truth About Crimes Against Women

-In Memory of Jeanne Clery-

MURDER: Every day four women die in this country (approximately 1400 each year) as a result of domestic violence.

BATTERY: Although over 500,000 cases of assault are reported to federal officials each year, estimates show that two to four million women are battered annually.

SEXUAL ASSAULT: Every year approximately 132,000 women report that they have been victims of rape or attempted rape. It is estimated that six times that number are raped, but do not report it.

The National Liberty Museum is a new museum located in the heart of historic Philadelphia. It was created to help combat America's growing problem with violence and bigotry by celebrating our nation's heritage of freedom and the wonderful diverse society it has produced.
