King Of Prussia, Penn.-Security On Campus, Inc. (SOC), the only national non-profit organization devoted exclusively to college and university campus crime prevention, announces the promotion of Catherine Bath to the position of Executive Director. Bath, formerly the organization's Program Director, joined the staff of the organization after her son, Raheem, died in 1999 as the result of a binge drinking incident at Duke University.

"Cathy, like our family, has taken the lessons learned from a personal tragedy and worked to save other college students from losing their lives," said Connie Clery, who co-founded SOC with her husband Howard after their only daughter Jeanne was raped and murdered at Lehigh University in 1986. "She has done an outstanding job for us, and we are very pleased to announce that she will be assuming important new responsibilities as the Executive Director of Security On Campus, Inc."

SOC also announces the appointment of Sarah Wood to the position of Program Director, formerly occupied by Bath. Wood, a graduate of Villanova University with a B.A. in Communications, will be responsible for SOC's educational programs and community outreach. This fall SOC launches, as a part of these educational and outreach efforts, its peer education program, Safe On Campus, in area high schools. Safe On Campus brings together local college students with high school students to discuss important safety issues specific to campus life.

Security On Campus, Inc., founded in 1987 by Connie and Howard Clery after their daughter Jeanne was murdered on campus, is the nation's only non-profit organization devoted exclusively to serving the victims of campus crimes and making college campuses safer. The grassroots organization has provided free assistance to thousands of campus crime victims since its founding and has also distributed thousands of educational videos to colleges and families across the country. It has been headquartered in King of Prussia since its founding and also has an office in Knoxville, Tennessee.
