Please Help Support National Campus Safety Awareness Month

Re: National Campus Safety Awareness Month (H.Res. 765/S.Res. 426)

Dear Friends,

S.O.S.! We need your help!

National Campus Safety Awareness Month
A new school year is fast approaching for America's college and university students and we need your help to make sure they are safe on campus! We've designated this September as the second annual National Campus Safety Awareness Month, but need Congressional recognition to help this fantastic educational opportunity to become as widely recognized as possible.

Resolutions have been introduced in both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate recognizing this effort. Please contact your U.S. Representative and ask him/her to co-sponsor H.Res. 765 (introduced by Rep. Curt Weldon from Pennsylvania). Also, ask both of your U.S. Senators to co-sponsor S.Res. 426 (introduced by Sen. Arlen Specter from Pennsylvania). For your reference a list of federal legislators is enclosed, along with a copy of the Congressional resolution.

It is widely recognized that September is the most dangerous month for college students. The first several weeks of college have even been nicknamed “The Red Zone” because of the high risk that new students have for being sexually assaulted. National Campus Safety Awareness Month will help to focus much needed attention on student safety during this time and help to prevent these crimes.

Thank you in advance for your continued partnership in our important work to save lives on campus! We hope you truly realize the impact you will be making in the lives of our current and future students. Please write or call your legislators TODAY. You might even be saving the life of someone you know and love.

Warmest Personal Regards,
Connie & Howard
Connie & Howard Clery

P.S. Please share this with friends & relatives who might have children going to college.
